Zaluzhny thanks PFVMH for assisting AFU
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Gen. Valeriy Zaluzhny, sent the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital his acknowledgment “for active civic stance, patriotism and assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which brings Victory over the enemy closer.”
On Thursday, Col. Oleksiy Noskov, Zaluzhny’s assistant, delivered the certificate of acknowledgment as an award from the C.-in-C. to the volunteer medics during the celebration of PFVMH’s ninth “birthday.”
“You always stand next to our military,” said Oleksiy Noskov. “Without any social guarantees, you keep doing your job and saving [lives]… Therefore, once again, I thank you all for your work, for those you have saved, are saving and will save.”
The same day, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Maj. Gen. Oleksandr Lytvynenko, greeted the mobile hospital personally, as did AFU warrior Mykola Strepochenko by phone from Avdiyivka.
December 15, 2014, is considered the PFVMH “birthday,” when its first team of volunteers (29 doctors, paramedics and support staff) went to the war, called Anti-Terrorist Operation at the time. However, the hospital dates back to the formation of volunteer mobile medical teams that provided first aid to wounded participants in the Revolution of Dignity ten years ago.
“PFVMH has become a prototype of what Ukraine can and should be. The Ukraine for which we fight, for which we offer our lives. For which we are not afraid of the horde attacking our freedom, dignity and independence,” emphasizes Gennadiy Druzenko, PFVMH co-founder and president.
Since the beginning of its participation in the Russian-Ukrainian war, PFVMH has provided medical care to 85,000 military and civilian patients, including 29,000 after the full-scale invasion of the aggressor in February 2024.
