On Ukrainian Volunteer Day, PFVMH receives high honors

On Ukrainian Volunteer Day, Mar. 14, the Pirogov First Volunteer Mobile Hospital received congratulations and awards from the country’s and its Security and Defense Forces’ top brass.

Greetings and awards to the mobile hospital and its volunteers were sent, particularly, by the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the commanders of the National Guard and the Territorial Defense, and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

The award ceremony, which included consecration and raising of flags, took place on the territory of the future PFVMH Training and Rehabilitation Center. According to the hospital’s President Gennadiy Druzenko, he hopes that the construction of the center will be completed by the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the hospital on Dec. 15, 2024.

“We have decided that while some of us are at war — PFVMH is currently on the front line, our ambulances are saving our wounded defenders in Lyman, Ray-Oleksandrivka, Kramatorsk, Slovyansk — at the same time, we must build. Build a Ukraine that will be worth all those who laid down their lives for it,” Druzenko said during the ceremony.

He also emphasized that the number of patients treated by PFVMH during the 10 years of war is approaching 90,000, including over 32,700 registered patients in just two years since the start of full-scale war.
